Limited Capacity seats available

Do you wonder how you can foster a Software Craftsmanship Community for several hundred developers. Do you want to know how to inspire people to organize Coding Dojos and CodeRetreats for themselves? Do you ask yourself how to make those events highly appreciated by participants? And are you curious how to get and use the support of your management for all of that?
Then you will be inspired by a story of a large organization beginning with a tremendously failing Clean Code training in 2012. It was the starting point of growing an internal Software Craftsmanship Community that organized uncountable trainings, coding katas and dojos since then. Hosting and facilitating the biggest Global Day of CodeRetreat 2017 in Germany by volunteers for nearly 100 participants was just one highlight of this internal community.
In addition to sharing this journey and the planned next steps we will collect experiences of participants in growing their Software Craftsmanship Communities. So that we are all eager to use the gained knowledge for improving and helping our own communities at home.

Learning Outcomes:
  • Ideas for fostering a Software Craftsmanship Community in a large organization
  • Ways for establishing regular CodeRetreats in a large organization
  • Inspiration for building a training program that encourages the use of Agile Development practices
  • How to get and use the support of management for the Software Craftsmanship Community
  • Ideas for building internal teams of volunteers for running Community Events and CodeRetreats
  • Get examples about failures and successes in growing a Software Craftsmanship Community in a large organization
