Abstract: Over the course of the last four days, you must have experienced some fantastic talks and engaging workshops. Have you thought about sharing your knowledge and ideas as a speaker, too? Have you ever imagined yourself speaking in front of an audience or facilitating a workshop at an Agile conference?
What value might conference speaking bring you, both personally and professionally? Would you consider presenting at Agile 2019? Even if that makes you nervous right now, it's not something out of reach. We're going to show you how.
Allow this session to be a catalyst that guides you to explore the idea. Just come to find out more. Experienced conference speakers will share their stories with you in this lively workshop.

Working collaboratively, you will learn strategies for crafting engaging talks. Further, we’ll use group feedback to identify strategies for writing proposals that make conference organizers say, “Wow!”
Lastly, for those interested, the workshop will conclude with an opportunity to connect aspiring speakers to potential mentors. This session will provide a place to form learning relationships to advise, teach, and support each other in becoming a future presenter!

Learning Outcomes: - Describe practices and behaviors experienced that presenters report have helped them become successful presenters.
- List helpful activities, and potential opportunities, to practice presentations.
- Apply new knowledge to get started, or take your next step, as a speaker; prepare for an Agile Alliance conference (e.g., Agile 2019).
- Construct an appealing session proposal using effective principles for submitting to conferences—especially Agile Alliance conferences.
- Create a personal relationship with an engaging mentor or mentee, and work with them to grow your skills in conference speaking.
- Form supportive relationships with other aspiring speakers.
